About my work
The photos I took at the BLM demonstration in Zurich meant a lot to me. It was a very emotional experience. I think I have never seen so many people in one place fighting for the same thing. The fact that so many people who are not of my skin color walked the streets together with me, my brothers and sisters, touched me the most. I was overwhelmed and speechless. I just stood there and wanted to capture these moments with my analog camera. The photos should help me to reflect my mixed feelings in these difficult times. I feel sad that we have to fight against racism. I am amazed at the number of people who showed up. I am happy because it was a sign that we no longer tolerate racism. Analogue photography has become a part of me. I love capturing beautiful moments. I love to transform them into photos. I love to capture my friends in different moments. I love to share that sparkle.
